Traditional Obaship Being Politicized in Nigeria

Crowning 👑 of Obas (Kings) and other traditional positions has become an issue of great concern as its being seen in many villages and towns.

In many cases, attaining the position of oba(king) and some other traditional positions are being politicized. This has made these traditional offices lost their credi and Worth thereby loosing respect in one form or the other.

These positions are no longer occupied by people chosen by the ancestors of the land like it used to be from the ancient days. Candidates that are interested in this positions now lobby with political office holders in order to reach the post even though they're not qualified or chosen by the people / the diviner ( Ifa (Oracle) or Amadioha) as the case may be.

These positions especially the kingship are now being influenced by politics which has made the traditional rulers and their office loss respect and honor to politicians because the politicians now believe that the traditional rulers can not be without them in many cases.

It's really high time we went back to our source  and make things right again so that our traditional institution an gain back the authority, honor and recognition they deserve and bestowed upon them by God almighty. If we don't forge, these traditional institutions have being in place before the modern politics.

The rate at which internet Fraudsters increases is quite alarming. Nigeria youths spesifically males have taken internet theft as normal occupation that majority are venturing into it.

This wi continue to be so if our society keep appreciating people on their sudden wealth without interrogating and knowing the source of their wealth.

To put an end to this, families has roles to play likewise the government. Families should ensure proper upbringing of children, give them good education both formal and informal most importantly teach them morals.

Government should make policies and provisions that will make the country conducive for all citizens to live. For majority of youths complain that government aren't making life easy at all. Actually, it's obvious there's hardship in the country. No jobs, businesses are crumbling and to make matters worse, there is no security.

Youths are graduating massively, yet no employment, even those that managed to learn a trade or vocation find it very difficult to establish. Though, these are the parts of the government's responsibility.

Now part of the youths, majority of youths are not contended and are covetous. They want to have in a year what can't be achieved in 5 years, therefore willing to do anything despirately to acquire their desires.

Law enforcement agencies are also not helping matters. They receive money from the these Fraudsters whenever they're apprehended and set them free without charging them to court for trials.

Funny aspect of it is that they accuse the government officials of theft whenever I'm opportuned to interview them. They say they accept they accept they're thieves but the government officials are bigger thieves.

It's high time we battled corruption starting from various political office holders down to the common citizens.

Cause To Effects: Alimonjiri

It's so sad some parents would bring children into this beautiful world and refuse to take up responsibilities on them but rather leave them to themselves to struggle right from childhood.

Quite unfortunate you see such children beg for food on the streets, they go from canteen to canteen to eat leftovers. They look so unkept and stink.

Majorly this happens in the northern part of the country, they are the "Alimonjiris", what do you think these kind of children would grow up to become if not bandits, gunmen, kidnappers, armed robbers and assassins then terrorize the country. Perhaps, they need to survive too so they would do anything to sustain and meet their daily needs. They will be so despirate carlous, why? because they never had parental care or love. They will never have mercy because they feel life has never being fair to them.

Do we also blame government for this?

Do you blame government for not giving your child a proper upbringing?

Yet we complain of insecurities in the country most especially in the north. Every country is made up of communities, communities are made up of societies and societies are made up of families meanwhile families are made up of individuals. So individuals in the family, that is the parents really need to take up their responsibilities on their children.

These Alimonjiris can be easily convinced to Carry out evil acts and they would be paid and catered for, I'm sure they won't think twice before accepting the offer to terrorize.

It's high time frame for people especially in the north to changed their orientation so we can have a reasonable and peaceful society.

FACTIONS IN AFENIFERE

Politics is taken as a demigod in Nigeria that it makes many Nigerians think irrationally.

The AFENIFERE, a Yoruba socio-political group has been broken into two factions, one fo Pa Ayo Adebanjo while the other is for Pa Reuben Fasoranti. This happens as both leaders support different political aspirant in the forth coming 2023 presidential election.

Pa Reuben Fasoranti claims that the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Hamed Tinubu is a Yoruba descendant, therefore he should be given mandate by the group (AFENIFERE). Since the group is a Yoruba group so should support its own.

Pa Ayo Adebanjo in his own view he's of the point that the south east deserves the seat the most now than any other zones because virtually all other zones have held the presidential position since the emergence of democracy even since Nigeria's independence. So he said to be fair and just, the Igbos should be the country's next president. So therefore, he's giving his support to the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

However, sometime last year 2021, Pa Reuben Fasoranti handed over the mantle of leadership of AFENIFERE to Pa Ayo Adebanjo. The question now is who should be referred to as the true leader of the group and who should the members of the group and the south westerners listen to.

Meanwhile, lots of controversies has erupted due to this issue. Let's think of it, should political issues tear the group apart?

Would the AFENIFERE leaders determine who the people of south west  should cast their votes for?

Is the AFENIFERE not losing their unity as they ougth to speak with one voice.

Hope this controversy would not submerge the AFENIFERE. For the group is meant to maintain peace and order in the south west region.

Both leaders should dialogue and reach a reasonable agreement so as to let peace reign in the group and in the region.
