The real prototype knew 14 languages, played chess brilliantly, and despite his frightening face and great strength at first glance, he was a very modest and friendly man.

He was born in 1903 in Russia, in the Urals, into a French family, which in 1917 returned to France in connection with the revolution.

History of Osogbo

History Of  Osogbo

One of the most accepted history of Osogbo can be traced to 1670 AD. As History had it, It all started with the journey of a famous hunter called Olutimilehin, who hails from Ipole-omu not far from Ibokun. Olutimilehin came across a local Dam while he was in hunting in a place called Gbonmin, around Oke-Baale area ( part of present day Osogbo ) .

Due to the water scarcity facing his community he went around to see if the dam will be capable of sustaining his people. Olutimihen was sad because the dam cannot sustain his community. In his quest Olutimilehin found a stream called Okrokro, which he traced its source to River Osun ( part of present day Osogbo ) . Olutimilehin went back to his community and inform the king, Larooye Gbadewolu of his findings. The king and his subjects later moved to settle at the flood plain and built his first palace later Known as Ile - Osun.

Overtime Larooye and his subjects engaged themselves in farming activities in their new found land. History learn that One day as they were clearing the bush for cultivation they incidentally fall a tree, damaging the Indigenous industry of the spirit world. A voice was heard from the river saying "Laro! Timehin! You have broken my dyeing pots".

Other voices from the spirit world were heard saying! "Oso-igbo pele o, Oso-Igbo rora o. (Oso-igbo we cormistrate with you). Later Larooye got to know the name of the spirit Queen as Oso-igbo (widely believe to be the goodies of River Osun). This is why the Osun goddess was, and is still regarded as the spiritual mother of Oba Larooye and all the succeeding Ataoja (King of Osogbo). History also has it that Larooye and his subjects move to the upper terrace in the plain which they later called OKE Ohuntoto at the present day Osun Groove.

As King Larooye community population grows the groove and their already flourishing market was abadon as they moved to Ode-Osogbo after the usual Ifa devination. The abandoned market centre and the iledi ohuntoto are today important historical monuments in the Osun grooves. At the Ode-Osogbo, Larooye built his new palace at called Idi-Osun while Timehin built a Shrine known as Idi-Ogun. Larooye and his subjects discovered that their new settlements was a centre where footpaths from Oyo, Ekiti, Ijesa etc converged.

LION RIDERS OF ETHIOPIA

LION RIDERS OF ETHIOPIA

Ethiopians rode lions like horses. Under the reign of Haile Selassie I

Did you know that Ethiopians trained Lions to catch enemy troops and battled with Cheetahs, bees, elephants, and lions?

Ethiopians went to battle with lethal creatures and insects such as bees, wasps, lions, elephants, or cheetahs trained to capture enemy camp troops, allowing them to win all colonization wars against them and be one of the few countries in the world to have never been colonized.

At the battle of Adwa, Ethiopian warriors proficient in sword warfare known as Shotel decimated the invading Italian soldiers in hand-to-hand combat, resulting in a resounding African victory.

PROVE THAT ETHIOPIANS TAMED AND RODE ON LIONS

THIS POST IS STRICKLY MADE TO EDUCATE THOSE THAT DOUBTED THAT EARLY ETHIOPIANS TAMED AND RODE ON LIONS.

How big are lions?

Size and Weight:

Male lions are much larger than females. The length of a female is typically between 4.6 and 5.7 feet, while the length of a male is between 5.6 and 8.3 feet. Their tail length is 27 to 41 inches. Female lions weigh 270 to 400 pounds, while males weigh 330 to 570 pounds.

Can people ride lions today?

Grizzly bear, Siberian tiger, Lions all are large enough for a human to ride. However all are dangerous, even today when these are made pets they still can maul people, even their owners. Second, especially for times past, these animals are a large competitor for prey animals and require a lot of meat to keep happy.

How fast can a lion run with a human on it's back?

It should not surprise you that a lion is way faster than you, but in case you need numbers: the fastest human to ever live, Usain Bolt, can run 27.79 miles per hour. A lion can run 50 miles per hour.3

ETHIOPIANS CAUGHT, TAMED, AND RODE LIONS, that's a historical fact, let that sink in.

Manchester United Co-owner Avran Glazar breaks his silence on saling the club; Speaking on Christiano Ronaldo's exit

Manchester United co-owner, Avram Glazer has broken his silence after putting the club up for sale.

The 62-year-old said they decided to seek 'strategic alternatives' for the club before thanking the departing Cristiano Ronaldo for all he has done for the club.

He was confronted in the street by a Sky News reporter in Palm Beach, Florida, after the shocking announcement on Tuesday November 22, that the Glazers were inviting fresh investment at United and were potentially open to a sale.

They value the Old Trafford club at upwards of £5billion.
Asked why now was the right time, Glazer replied: 'As we announced yesterday, the board went through a process and it has decided it is going to look at different strategic alternatives and that's what we're doing.'

When it was put to Glazer that most United fans feel his family should have sold the club years ago, he answered: 'Once again, we are going through a process, we will look at all different strategic alternatives and we will see where it leads us.

I appreciate you talking to me tonight and I'm going to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.'
Asked about the acrimonious departure of Ronaldo, Glazer said: 'I will tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo, he is a great Manchester United player and I appreciate everything he has done for the club and I wish him the best of luck in the future.'

The decision to sell the club came after Ronaldo, 37, criticized the Glazer family during his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, with the comments leading to his departure from United on Tuesday.

He said: 'The Glazers, they don't care about the cub. I mean, professional sport, as you know, Manchester is a marketing club.
They will get money from the marketing - the sport, it's, they don't really care, in my opinion.

'The fans, they're always right. I think the fans should know the truth, should know that the players want the best for the club.

'I want the best for the club. This why I came to Manchester United.
